After Radhika Madan, Sanya Malhotra roped in for Vishal Bhardwaj’s “Chhuriyaan”

After Radhika Madan, Sanya Malhotra roped in for Vishal Bhardwaj’s “Chhuriyaan”
After Radhika Madan who featured in Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi show on Colors channel, Dangal actress Sanya Malhotra is roped in for Vishal Bhardwaj’s film. Vishal Bhardwaj had auditioned over 60 girls for his upcoming comedy-drama, Chhuriyaan and finally, he got what he wanted in Dangal actress Sanya Malhotra. The film will revolve around two sisters involved in disputes.

The two actresses are presently in Ronsi’s village Quaint which is situated three hours drive away from Jaipur, learning how to milk buffalos, thatch roofs and plaster their walls with dung, walk for a kilometer balancing Matkas full of water on their head and one around their waist and Rajasthani dialect. Next schedule of the movie will be at Mount Abu later this year.
Title of the film Chhuriyaan is inspired by filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj’s screenplay Maqbool, Omkara, and Haider.

Vishal explained smiling, “The siblings are like knives, constantly wanting to cut each other. While there’s no gender for a knife in English, it’s called Chhura and Chhuri in Hindustani. Since they are girls, we liked Chhuriyaan.”
Vishal while praising his two actresses with whom he’s been prepping and conducting workshops said, “Sanya and Radhika are fantastic. They are youthful and completely untouched by the world of glamour. Their energy is infectious as well. They come to my office to discuss the film and soon I am as energetic as them. I am consumed by a very different kind of excitement that takes me back to my Makdee days.”

For this film, Sanya and Radhika will gain around 10-12 kgs of weight to carry the look of two loggerheads. Vishal signs off promisingly by saying, “The film is divided into two parts — the girls before their marriage and how their lives change after they tie the knot. Usually, actors give directors a commitment, but when push comes to shove they get cold feet. But that doesn’t happen with newcomers who are ready for anything. I am looking forward to directing Sanya and Radhika because I can mold them according to my will, change their look and create something fresh”.
